Fireweed
Dad did the 50 mile bike race in the Fireweed this year. It was windy and rainy and cold and rainy and it was really fun for the spectators. But then we got to eat a hot lunch and be in the car most of the time. Dad did really well and won for his age group! He even got a prize. Andy Romang took all of these great pictures.

First Day of School Treat
We successfully finished the first day of school 2017! To celebrate, we had ice cream sundaes. Mom put the ice cream in the bowl, and then we got to choose our toppings. There were nuts, cherries, peanut butter cups, chocolate sauce and caramel sauce. It was delicious!🍨 - Louisa

Fairbanks
| waiting for pizza |
The next day we got to Fairbanks and went to Mass and then hung out that night. The next day we went to Alaskaland pardon me, Pioneer Park now, which is basically a Fairbanks themed theme park. There was a train that went all around the park, and a playground, an air museum, an old steamboat, a merry-go-round and a lot of log cabin shops. After that we went to a carnival to get funnel cakes and then to the solstice festival. There Ursula rode a mechanical wild bull, and we all did an inflatable obstacle course. It was a lot of fun. Then we had a water fight. We also built a fire and and made s'mores. The next day we drove home. It was an awesome trip. Here are a few pics. 📷

Tie Dye
Yesterday we did our annual tie-dye event! This year Ombre seems to be the crowd favorite.🌈 Also the color magnet was very popular. Ombre as you can see is dark on one end and light on the other. I don't know how the color magnet works but it makes some parts darker color. Auntie Rach and Mary did a lot of handkerchiefs, and Auntie Rach did the new baby's outfit. Mom did a pair of pants for herself and one for Silvia and also a spair pair. Ursula did a shirt and a book cover. I did a top. Pia did a dress and a headband, and Cordelia did a shirt and a headband. We all did handkerchiefs for Auntie Rach. Everything was a complete sucsess!

Silvia-isms
Silvia can name some things great names. She also has good sayings. For instance, post hole diggers are now "dirt tongs." And a quote from the car- "If you guys were all Silvias, you would be so lucky." You never know what she will say next! -by Louisa
