Tea Party

These are some pictures from a tea party, not the latest one, but the one before. We had fancy teacups, fancy dresses, fancy marshmallows, fancy cookies, fancy rolls, fancy fruit, and of course, fancy tea.

 

Reuben's Birthday

Reuben turned 3 on the 6th and we had a great party with an accidental TV theme. I say that because most of his presents and even the cake just kind of turned out to be from movies or TV shows. When we asked Reuben what kind of cake he wanted, he replied without prompting or hesitation, "Um, butter cake." So Ursula made him a butter cake. And it just happened to have sprinkles in the shape of Mickey Mouse. Other presents that fit into the TV theme were Octonauts Season One Pack ('Pack' means it came with toys), a Mickey Mouse shirt, and a Ghostbusters jacket, Mickey Mouse jelly beans, and Blue's Clues toys. He also got dinosaur toys, a sloth (stuffed), candy, a puzzle (I swear, the kid's already a nerd), and a birthday suit.

Pretty Drink

I made a drink and it looked so pretty I took a picture. Actually, I took a few pictures and I couldn't decide which of these I liked better.

Pre-Haircut Reuben

This is Reuben's hair before his haircut. Which actually hasn't happened yet, but this is the before.

Tea Party Photoshoot

At our tea party we decided to go outside and do a photo shoot before dessert. The results are as follows.

Princess Tea Party

We decided to put on a tea party for the princesses and knight of the Kingdom of Quarantine. The guest list was a follows:

For food there were homemade biscuits and cookies, ants on a log, carrot sticks, grapefruit sorbet for dessert, and of course, tea. It was a Fancy Dress party, (which can be interpreted as formal wear or literally a fancy dress - either works) but as Brave Sir Reuben had just been questing (and bravely running away) he was exempt from the dress code.

This is a Grapefruit Sorbet that Pia made. It was very elegant and delicious!
